The Zenith Train is primed to break a world speed record when its passengers are suddenly flung into an uncanny forest world where the human race has utterly vanished. Instead, they encounter spectral beings who are sometimes friends, sometimes predators, but may be the next step in evolution.

Do the Zenith survivors have a duty to revive our species? Or is the human era truly over?
